Multi-instrumentalist Paul Brown is well known to central Ohio audiences from his time with
The Pleasant Mountain Boys and Death By Banjo. Paul is a two time Ohio state champion
banjo player and has placed in the top 5 at the National Bluegrass Banjo Championships in
Winfield, Kansas twice. His highly melodic style is heavily influenced by his fiddle playing, which
also has won numerous awards. He currently teaches advanced banjo at Denison University.
Zeke Hutchison, mandolin, grew up with music all around. Both his grandfathers played
the fiddle and his father and uncle performed nationally as the Hutchison Brothers.
Zeke recently recorded with Tim O’Brien on his Short Order Sessions, who referred
to him as “is one of the very best unsung mandolin players in the world.”
Zeke also heads Zeke’s Fancy, a contra dance band.
Tom Zinser, guitar and vocals, is the heart of the band. His rock solid guitar playing and beautifully smooth, clear voice have been heard on Columbia records, the Billboard charts and with the bands The Wild Life, Owen B., The Pleasant Mountain Boys and, most recently, with Death by Banjo.
Nick Weiland, upright bass, started out as the drummer in a 60’s garage band and has taken a long musical road through folk, rock and old-time to arrive at Fiddle Me This. He is also the bassist for the Hotpoint Stringband and Zeke’s Fancy contra dance bands, as well as The American Songbook Trio.
